Windows Home Server

Recently I have begun using Microsoft's Windows Home Server on my own PCs and have been very encouraged by the results. I am in the process of setting up free access on patscomputerrescue.com where you can log in and check out Windows Home Server first hand.

It will be up and running shortly so check back soon.

What is Windows Home Server?

Windows Home Server is the new way for families to organize, share and protect their digital photos, videos, music and more.

Protection

Windows Home Server automatically backs up your home computers to the home server. This allows you to restore your whole computer or go back to a specific point in time and find an individual file.

This is one of my favorite features because it takes the worry out of remembering to back up your computer. Just imagine losing years of irreplaceable family photos and important documents. Windows Home Server keeps that from happening and gives you the piece of mind that your computer will be safe. Also, it continually monitors the health of your PC to make sure it is operating properly and that you have the most up-to-date virus protection.

Connection

Windows Home Server allows you to connect to your home server from virtually anywhere. You can remotely connect to the PCs in your home and access all your files and applications.

This is another feature I really enjoy because I have been on several business trips where I didn't transfer all the files I needed to my laptop. With Windows Home Server I don't have to worry about forgetting important documents since I can access my files from anywhere.

Plus, you can use your free Internet address to share your digital photos, music, etc. with anyone you want. Just give them your web address and password and they can log in. You choose the photos you want to make available.

Organization

Windows Home Server allows you to access all of your files quickly and easily by bringing them to a centralized location. It's already set up with folders specifically designed for photos, music, videos, software, etc. making it simple to access and share your files.

I am very impressed with the simplicity and organization capabilities of Windows Home Server. It's already made it much easier for me to organize my data. Plus, it increases the storage room on your computer, so large files won't slow down your computer's operating speed.

Overall, I'm very happy with Windows Home Server and I plan to keep using it at home and at the office.

Don't forget to check back soon to try it out for yourself.
